Your content is.
Your AI is as Trustworthy as the Content You Feed it

If the input isrotten, the output will be confidently wrong.
Here is what I see over and over with Product Managers and Customer Support leaders.
On paper, they have:
- A help center
- Internal knowledge base
- Release notes
- Macros or canned responses
- A few (secret) docs in Google Drive or Notion
Then they plug AI into one slice of that mess and hope it somehow behaves like a well-trained support specialist.
Result:
- Customers get different answers to the same question.
- Enterprise clients get old pricing or deprecated flows.
- AI suggests steps that do not match the current UI.
- Nobody is sure whether to trust the bot, so tickets get escalated anyway.
The model is not making up knowledge out of nowhere.
It is stitching together whatever it can find.
If what it finds is:
Outdated
Duplicated
Conflicting
Then the AI will repeat that, wrapped in a friendly tone and solid confidence.
That is not intelligence. That is amplified chaos.
A quick story from the trenches
I audited a SaaS help system where customers kept complaining: “Your AI assistant is wrong half the time.”
When we traced answers back to the source, we found:
3 (final) setup guides for the same feature
1 legacy beta doc from two years ago
1 internal troubleshooting note that should never be customer-facing
All live. All discoverable.
The AI was not hallucinating.
It was quoting the mess it was given.
When we:
Merged those guides into one canonical version
Archived the legacy content correctly
Marked the internal note as “internal only” so AI could not see it
The (hallucinations) dropped sharply.

Before 2026: Treat AI as a New Hire, Not a Magic Trick

If a new Support hire joined your team, would you:
- Throw them into five different wikis
- Give them three conflicting SOPs
- Tell them “just search around, you will figure it out”
Nope.
You would:
- Give them a curated set of docs
- Walk them through key customer journeys
- Explain what is current, what is old, and what is internal only
Your AI needs the same thing.

Here is a simple reset for 2026: Focus on the places that hit revenue, retention, and reputation.
Such as:
Onboarding
Expansion
Renewals
Churn risk
If a human could use it to answer the question, assume the AI could find it.
Spoiler:
You will find duplicates.
You will find dead links and zombie docs
You will find contradicting steps.
You will find (temporary) docs from 2022 that never died.
Point AI only at the curated, trusted set for those key journeys
Test with real user questions and compare before vs after
You will see the difference fast:
Fewer “it depends” or vague responses
Fewer escalations from bot to human
More “copy and paste” ready answers for customers and agents
Same AI.
Better content.
Lower risk.
What Success Looks Like in Q1

Product Managers:
- Fewer fire drills because the AI is not teaching customers old behavior
- Better feedback signals, because complaints are about the product, not the docs
- Clearer link between product changes and documentation updates
Customer Support and Customer Success:
- AI you can trust to handle the top 20 questions without making things worse
- Less time spent correcting bad answers
- Stronger case for AI ROI when you show reduced handle time and escalations
The Business:
